What does a carpenter do?

As a carpenter, you work on the building site or in the workshop on a variety of carpentry tasks. You read drawings, measure everything carefully, process wood and assemble parts on site. You work independently or as part of a team and consult with supervisors, foremen and fellow construction workers.

Common tasks of a carpenter:

What do you need as a carpenter?

As a carpenter, you work physically active, accurately and according to technical drawings. You have a strong sense of responsibility and know how to work safely on the building site. Experience is nice, but you are also welcome as an apprentice.

Skills and requirements:

  • MBO education in carpentry or construction engineering (level 2 or 3)
  • Technical insight and experience with measuring and reading drawings
  • Dexterity with (electrical) tools and woodworking
  • In possession of a VCA certificate or willing to obtain one
  • Driving licence B is often an advantage
  • Independent, accurate and collegial working attitude
