Do you enjoy working with metal and seeing the immediate results of your work? As a Shearer and Bender, you’ll be producing bespoke metal parts using shearing and bending machines. You’ll work from technical drawings and ensure that every part is the correct shape and size. Your work therefore forms an important foundation for the subsequent construction of car transporters.
What are you going to do?
As a Metal Cutter and Bender, you will machine metal components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. You will set up the machines and check the results yourself to ensure they are correct.
- You will shear, bend and shape steel and aluminium components;
- You set up CNC-controlled shearing and press brake machines and operate them independently;
- You work from technical drawings and product specifications;
- You check the dimensions and quality of the parts produced;
- You assist with internal transport and light welding work;
- You identify deviations and adjust settings where necessary;
- You contribute ideas on how to improve working methods and the production process.
Who are you?
As a Shearer and Edger, you work with precision and are able to apply technical information effectively on the shop floor. You check your own work and carry out tasks independently.
- You have experience in metalworking or are willing to learn the trade;
- You can read and apply technical drawings;
- You work independently and check the quality of your work;
- You hold a forklift certificate or are willing to obtain one;
- You are available for 30 to 38 hours a week.
