Do you enjoy working with metal and do you value precision in your work? As a Shearer and Bender, you’ll be machining metal components using modern shearing and bending machines. You’ll work from technical drawings, check the dimensions and ensure that every component meets the correct specifications. In this way, you’ll make a direct contribution to the production of reliable car transporters.
What are you going to do?
As a Shearer and Bender, you will machine metal components with precision in accordance with drawings and specifications. You will set up the machines correctly, check your work and take action if you spot any deviations.
- You cut, bend and shape steel and aluminium;
- You set up and operate CNC-controlled shearing and press brake machines;
- You work from technical drawings and product specifications;
- You check dimensions, measurements and product quality;
- You assist where necessary with internal transport and light welding work;
- You identify deviations and adjust the process where necessary;
- You contribute ideas for improvements to working methods and production.
Who are you?
As a Shear Operator, you work with precision and technical skill, paying close attention to the quality of every component. You are able to work independently and know how to apply technical information effectively in practice.
- You have experience in metalworking or are keen to learn the trade;
- You can read technical drawings and apply them correctly;
- You work independently and meticulously, and check the quality of your work;
- You hold a forklift licence or are willing to obtain one;
- You are available for 30 to 38 hours per week.
