What does an account manager do?
As an account manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding a customer portfolio. You maintain contact with existing customers, conduct advisory interviews, prepare quotations and ensure that the service or product range meets the customer's needs. At the same time, you are actively recruiting new customers or projects.
You are an important point of contact and are often on the road to customers or active at trade fairs, events or network meetings. Internally, you also have a lot of contact with colleagues from marketing, production, logistics and administration, among others.

Key qualities:
- Minimum mbo+ or hbo working and thinking level
- Education in commerce, business administration or engineering (preferred)
- Demonstrable experience in sales or customer management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Independent, results-oriented and enterprising
- Affinity with the sector in which you work (engineering, industry, services)
- In possession of driving license B
For junior positions, motivation and eagerness to learn are especially important. For senior positions, it is important that you bring a network or have experience in strategic relationship management.
